
LNER’s energy efficiency transformed with Eco Insight

The Challenge
London North Eastern Railway (LNER), a major British train company, set its A Better Journey pledge, to work hard to embed sustainability, equality and just practices into everything it does.
Prior to this pledge, LNER had no real-time data on their energy consumption, relying solely on monthly billing statements, making it difficult to identify areas for improvement and track progress towards sustainability goals.
LNER needed to gain real-time insights into energy usage and trends and establish baseline data for consumption across their depot in Aberdeen, in order to identify areas of high energy consumption that required immediate attention.
